Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan in Alpena houses a collection of over 47,000 artifacts spanning natural history, art, and regional heritage. Families can explore immersive exhibits including a full-dome sky theater, a two-story Foucault Pendulum, rotating art galleries, an authentic 1890s Avenue of Shops, and a Fossil Park where visitors can dig for and keep Devonian period fossils. The museum also features the Discover Northeast Michigan History exhibit, which chronicles eleven time periods through interactive displays taking visitors from the Big Bang to Big Industry.
