NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale*

NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale* is one of Florida’s premiere cultural attractions and is located in the heart of the Riverwalk Arts and Entertainment District in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Among the Museum’s permanent collections are American and European modern and contemporary art, Picasso ceramics, and contemporary Cuban art. The Museum also has a comprehensive collection of the work of the American impressionist William Glackens, as well as one of the country’s largest collections of works by the Northern European artists who collectively make up the movement known as CoBrA (named for the cities of Copenhagen, Brussels, and Amsterdam). Housed in an architecturally significant building designed by the renowned architect Edward Larrabee Barnes, the Museum schedules ambitious education programs offering art classes in a variety of media and subjects for all ages and skill levels, and features weekly special events ranging from jazz concerts to lectures to yoga lessons.
