Fairmount Water Works

Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is a museum and environmental education center housed in a historic building that opened in 1815 as the city's water pumping station. Families can learn about Philadelphia's water history, infrastructure, and the importance of water resource protection through exhibits and educational programs. Located on the east bank of the Schuylkill River between Boat House Row and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the center has welcomed over 575,000 visitors since reopening as an interpretive center in 2003.
