Menil Collection

The Menil Collection is an art museum set within a residential neighborhood in central Houston, occupying a 30-acre campus that invites visitors to explore its main building, Menil Drawing Institute, Cy Twombly Gallery, and Dan Flavin Installation at Richmond Hall. The museum's holdings include more than 25,000 works and families can enjoy free admission to the art buildings and surrounding green spaces. Founded in 1954 by philanthropists John and Dominique de Menil, the museum opened to the public in 1987 and remains committed to fostering greater public understanding and appreciation of art, architecture, culture, religion, and philosophy.
