Breckenridge History: Edwin Carter Museum

Edwin Carter Museum is a museum in Breckenridge, CO dedicated to naturalist Edwin Carter, a former miner who became a pioneering naturalist and taxidermist. Visitors can learn about Carter's life and see some of his original specimens, including taxidermied animals from his collection that later became part of the founding collection of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. The museum operates in the same cabin where Carter originally displayed his 3,300 specimens 150 years ago.
